St. Vincent de Paul Parish, which was born on February 29, 1976, is about to be 50 years old. Over the years, we have seen the great things the Lord has done for us under the leadership of the various pastors, Finance and Pastoral Advisory Councils. It is through their hard work, fellowship and love of God and His Church that we are who we are today.
From those humble beginnings, we have grown to become a parish with 3,100 registered families and 60+ ministries on a big campus.
Since I arrived at St. Vincent de Paul four years ago, I have been blessed in many ways as a pastor, including the opportunity to be here for the celebration of the sacraments, social activities, formation programs as well as many other events. During this time, I have also had the opportunity to listen to parishioners and learn a lot as we grow together in faith. St. Vincent de Paul has a rich history, and it is from this that we have developed the campaign theme of REVIVE - REVERE - REACH. We would like to revive the spirit of loving fellowship, revere the sacred presence of God among his people and with that same love reach out to our brothers and sisters who are in need like our patron saint did. A key part of preserving this heritage is to improve the building, maintain our campus and have a fund that will continue to keep it beautiful and alive for the next generation.
It is in the spirit that I would like to invite all parishioners to help reach the goal of renovating the sanctuary, the narthex and the restrooms in the church through a capital campaign. This will be done bearing in mind the preservation and enhancement of architectural details to make our home parish even more inviting.
It has become necessary to do this now to help us dive more deeply into the mysteries of the loving God, who has been our companion in the ages past and who is our hope for the years to come.
Dear God, our Father, we know that all that we have and all that we are flows from your goodness. We thank you for the many blessings you have bestowed on our vibrant parish. We ask that you bless our Capital Campaign as we seek to beautify and revive our church. We know that all things are possible with you, and through this campaign, we strive to revere you. We ask that you give us full hearts so that we may reach all who should hear your voice. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
AMEN.
St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us.
