Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest and deacon by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. Parishioners are asked to assist in this ministry at least once a month, sometimes more as the need arises. These ministers are to be practicing Catholics, who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. And if married, they need to be married in the Catholic Church or the marriage needs to be recogonized by the Church. Training is provided by the parish before serving in this ministry.
